DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A local non-profit is changing the way those who shop, and rewarding those who shop locally. The Lowcountry Localist card is a new initiative designed to help support local businesses and shoppers.
A card designed to support and promote local businesses while rewarding consumers for shopping and dining locally. Those who spend money locally have a three-fold impact in the community, more than those who spend it with a national chain, explained Lowcountry Local First’s Kayla Sewell.
Local non-profit Lowcountry Local First launched the 2026 Localist card in November of 2025. The card is $25, which goes to support the non-profit, and gives members year-long discounts at over 65 participating small businesses. Ranging from restaurants, boutiques, service providers, and more…
