CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — For residents and businesses on Charleston’s East Side, flooding has long been a familiar concern, but city officials say a major renovation to the Concord Street Pump Station could help ease some of that pressure.
The pump station, located along Concord Street near the South Carolina Aquarium, is now fully operational following a more than $10 million upgrade aimed at improving reliability and reducing the risk of flooding in one of the city’s most vulnerable areas.
