CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Charleston Water System and Charleston Waterkeeper have reached an agreement to address ongoing sanitary sewage overflow problems in West Ashley after two years of dispute.
The sewage overflows have affected West Ashley residents for years, with raw sewage backing up from the system and flowing into streets and yards during heavy rain. The problem became particularly noticeable on Donahue Drive and surrounding areas.
