Drive-By Gunfire in Moncks Corner Prompts Police Investigation

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Authorities are investigating an early-morning shooting that rattled a quiet Moncks Corner neighborhood after multiple shots were fired from a moving vehicle along Bonnoitt Street, according to Police Chief Antwan Richardson.

The incident happened at approximately 2:40 a.m. Sunday, prompting a quick response from Moncks Corner police officers and Berkeley County deputies. Despite the burst of gunfire, officials say no injuries have been reported, and there is no confirmed property damage at this time.

Investigators spent part of the morning canvassing the area, recovering shell casings from the roadway and nearby properties. Police are also reviewing available video and audio evidence in hopes of identifying those responsible…
