BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The deadly crash along Nexton Parkway in late January started as an apparent motor vehicle theft of a DoorDash driver’s car, according to an incident report from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
Enaj B. Vasconcellos, 21, from Summerville, was allegedly driving a stolen 2022 Chevy Malibu when he crashed into a 2018 Subaru SUV, killing himself and injuring one other person on Jan. 30. According to law enforcement, Vasconcellos was in a stolen car, fleeing from law enforcement that attempted to apprehend him.
The car was initially reported stolen from a Mr. Fuel on North Main Street. An unnamed DoorDash driver left the car running and unlocked while he went inside to pick up an order. When he returned, he found his car missing, according to an incident report…
