GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – Goose Creek Police Chief LJ Roscoe has stepped down from her role, city officials announced Thursday, bringing an end to her seven-year tenure at the city’s police department. She was the city’s first female police chief.
City leaders confirmed they accepted Roscoe’s resignation earlier in the day and thanked her for her years of service leading the Goose Creek Police Department. During her time as chief, officials said Roscoe helped strengthen community outreach efforts while prioritizing public safety across the fast-growing city.

“For the past seven years, Chief Roscoe has led the City of Goose Creek Police Department with professionalism and enthusiasm,” the city said in a statement, adding that her leadership played a key role in advancing the department’s mission and building stronger connections with residents.
Roscoe reflected on her tenure in a farewell statement, calling her time leading the department “the honor of a lifetime.”
