110 mph chase ends with stop sticks as deputies arrest man in stolen Jeep Compass

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — A 24-year-old man was arrested late Thursday after deputies say he led law enforcement on a multi-county chase in a stolen vehicle that reached speeds of about 110 mph.

Deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling Ashley Phosphate Road around 10:38 p.m. when they spotted a red Jeep Compass that had been reported stolen through the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

After additional units arrived, deputies attempted a felony traffic stop, activating blue lights and a siren. Authorities said the driver accelerated and fled, traveling into Charleston County before merging onto Interstate 26 westbound…
