Summerville, South Carolina – A series of six small earthquakes has been recorded in the Charleston-area region since the beginning of February, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The strongest of the recent quakes measured magnitude 2.9 and struck on Saturday, Feb. 7, roughly 5 miles south of Summerville, about 25 miles inland from Charleston.
