Coroner identifies Ravenel motorcyclist killed after striking deer on Hyde Park Road

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a motorcyclist from Ravenel who died after striking a deer on Hyde Park Road Thursday evening.

64-year-old Michael Goheen died on scene Thursday, Feb. 12 from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle collision, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that the crash was caused when the motorcyclist, Goheen, struck a deer in the roadway in the 6400 block of Hyde Park Road in Ravenel…
