Goose Creek man accused of assaulting deputy during a traffic stop

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday the arrest of a Goose Creek man for allegedly trying to assault a deputy.

On Sunday, Feb. 15, a deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reported that a vehicle came dangerously close to him while he was trying to rescue a dog on College Park Road, disregarding the deputy’s blue lights.

During a traffic stop with the vehicle, the deputy said the vehicle’s airbags were deployed, and the vehicle was severely damaged. The driver told the deputy he had just been in a car accident…
