JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) — Thanks to the Lowcountry Land Trust and a donation from one important family, a 50-acre property on Johns Island will remain an undeveloped natural beauty forever, preserving the area for future generations.
According to the release from the Land Trust, Oscar’s Place which is located along River Road across from Johns Island County Park and Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island, is now under permeant protection.
The property which was previously owned by the Meyer family is comprised of a large freshwater pond with a small island that serves as an important roosting and resting area for native birds, as well as a massive canopy of grand live oaks…
