CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — One Lowcountry mother has filed a lawsuit against the Medical University of South Carolina after she claims a medical technician dropped her baby just eight days after she was born.
Shortly after giving birth, mother Lacey Oppelt says her baby was admitted to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital for jaundice. When getting discharged, Oppelt says a medical technician was transporting the baby to the car when an accident happened.
“The tech slipped on some liquid on the floor and in her slipping, she dropped the baby,” Oppelt said. “…The car seat was upside down.”…
