Shadowmoss residents raise safety concerns over unexpected problems from large crowds visiting new park

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD) – Residents of the Shadowmoss neighborhood in West Ashley say the new Bridge Pointe Park Playground is bringing large crowds and also unexpected problems, creating safety concerns.

Residents of Shadowmoss explained that not everyone who visits the park respects the space around it. In some cases, creating safety concerns for people who live nearby. They’ve called on the City of Charleston for resolutions.

“They’re parking illegally, many times in front of fire hydrants. When they can’t find parking here, they go on to Court St and park in front of mailboxes,” explained longtime resident Robert O’Brien. “It creates a problem that we didn’t cause.”…
