Arrest made in North Charleston armed robbery case tied to March 3 holdup

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 23-year-old man from Dorchester County was arrested on Wednesday on charges connected to an armed robbery that occurred earlier in the month, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

On March 3, officers responded to the 5700 block of Diedrich Street for a report of an armed robbery. The victim told police he was in his truck when two men approached him, demanding money. Allegedly, during the encounter, the suspect pointed a gun at him twice while searching his pockets. The suspect then took his cellphone before leaving the scene, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement saw the suspect near Patriot Boulevard and Ashley Phosphate Road. He was tracked to a residence in the 9400 block of Oak Forest Boulevard, where he was then apprehended at the scene…
