BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a woman with submitting a fraudulent rental-car receipt as part of an insurance claim.
Kenyada Lucretia Smith, 41, is charged with forgery, a charge of less than $10,000, and presenting a false claim for an insurance payment valued at $2,000 or less.
She filed a claim with Safeco alleging an insured vehicle on the policy was involved in a collision in November 2024 in Summerville, according to the affidavit. The policy afforded rental car reimbursement in the event the assessed vehicle damage resulted in a total loss.
