Additional information revealed surrounding the fatal Stono River boating accident

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) — The body of a 44-year-old man who went missing on Johns Island Saturday has been identified as William Singleton, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities say the search began after the U.S. Coast Guard was notified of an unmanned 21-foot skiff in the Stono River. A multi-agency response followed, with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) assisting in the search. Divers later recovered Singleton’s body.
