North Charleston man charged in connection with early-morning burglary

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department arrested a man in connection with a commercial burglary Saturday morning.

Clarence Jason Brown, 45, is charged with second-degree burglary, according to jail records.

Officers responded to a reported burglar alarm at the Palmetto Goodwill corporate office located at 2150 Eagle Drive, just before 2 a.m. Upon arrival, an officer saw an open bay door on the side of the building.

While searching the area, an officer noticed a suspect hiding behind boxes and peering out from above a cardboard box. The officer then ordered him to step into an open area and searched him for weapons…
