More details revealed about the fatal Stono River boating accident

The body of William Singleton, a 44-year-old man from James Island, has been recovered after he went missing on Johns Island on Saturday. According to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office, Singleton’s body was discovered following a multi-agency search operation.

Search and Recovery

The search for Singleton began after the U.S. Coast Guard was alerted to an unmanned 21-foot skiff floating in the Stono River. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) joined the response, and divers later recovered Singleton’s body from the water.
