💰 Charleston County approves first attainable housing tax break

Charleston County Council has approved its first project under the county’s Attainable Housing Tax Abatement program. The project, called Cordelia on Rivers, will bring 129 new rental units to North Charleston, near the future Lowcountry Rapid Transit line.

About 41% of the apartments will be set aside as attainable housing for 15 years — including 21 units for households earning below 60% of the area median income and 32 units for those earning up to 80%.
