Charleston man accused of stalking, harassing former coworker

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department said Thursday a man has been arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing his former coworker.

John David Ayers, 28, was served with an arrest warrant charging him with stalking.

Officers responded to a report of attempted vandalism at an address within the Wescott community on March 12. Upon arrival, they met with a victim who said nails were intentionally placed under a tire of their vehicle in an attempt to puncture the tires.

Further investigation revealed that Ayers was “infatuated” with the former coworker, and surveillance video showed him placing the nails under each tire. Investigators said he had allegedly harassed the former coworker on social media and had been seen near their house…
