Charleston Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened around 8:30 a.m. on March 26, 2026, at the intersection of King Street and Broad Street. Officers say a pedestrian was crossing Broad Street in a marked crosswalk when a pickup truck turning left struck them. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital and later died from their injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene, and the roadway was closed for about two and a half hours before reopening around 11 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed yet…
