According to the North Charleston Police Department, a 28-year-old man named John David Ayers has been arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing his former coworker. The case came to light after police responded to a complaint in the Wescott community on March 12 regarding an attempt to damage a vehicle.
When officers reached the location, the victim reported that nails had been deliberately placed under the tyres of their vehicle. The intention appeared to be to puncture the tyres and cause damage. This raised immediate concern, as it suggested a planned act rather than random vandalism.
Investigation and Evidence
As the investigation moved forward, police discovered more details that pointed towards a targeted act. Authorities found that Ayers was allegedly “infatuated” with the victim, who was his former coworker.
