A routine patrol in North Charleston turned into a short police chase early Friday, ending with the arrest of a young driver. The incident highlights how even minor traffic violations can quickly escalate when drivers fail to comply with law enforcement.
Traffic Stop Turns Into Brief Pursuit
According to the North Charleston Police Department, an officer was patrolling the Otranto Road area just after midnight when he noticed a blue sedan with a missing headlight and high beams turned on. Due to these violations, the officer attempted to stop the vehicle.
However, the driver did not pull over and instead continued driving, leading to a brief pursuit. For safety reasons, the officer later decided to discontinue the chase.
