FIRST ALERT: Expect a mild afternoon… Warming trend this week

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Dry, cool and breezy conditions are contributing to an elevated fire risk across the Lowcountry today, but some relief is on the way in the coming days!

A High Surf Advisory has been extended in time until 11 AM Sunday for Charleston, Beaufort and coastal Colleton Counties as winds (up to 25 MPH) contribute to dangerous swimming and surfing conditions. Winds will slowly relax at our beaches starting midday today.

Chilly temperatures blanket the area early this morning with temperatures dropping into the low 40s across most areas. Locations north and west of the Charleston Tri-County region will have the best chance of reaching the mid to upper 30s…
