MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — (UPDATE) A small plane that crashed into a pond in the Ravens Run community late Tuesday evening, reportedly experienced a “loss of directional control upon takeoff,” leading up to the crash, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
A newly released report states that upon arriving at the scene in Mount Pleasant, police spoke to the pilot who stated that the plane veered out of control to the left during takeoff and crashed into the water.
The pilot also reportedly stated that they tried to do everything to maintain control of the aircraft however they were ultimately unable to due to a mechanical malfunction…
