North Charleston man accused of endangering child at gas station arrested

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — North Charleston police arrested a man Tuesday after they said he put his child at risk while intoxicated at a local gas station.

Anthony Leroy Green, 41, is charged with public disorderly conduct, driving under suspension (third offense or subsequent), public intoxication, threatening the life of a public official and unlawfully placing a child at risk, according to police.

Officers responded around 9 a.m. to the Sunoco station at Patriot Boulevard and Ashley Phosphate Road. When an officer arrived, police said a young child was sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle and not inside a proper child safety seat.

The officer contacted the driver, identified as Green, and began asking about any disturbances in the area. During the conversation, the officer detected the smell of alcohol and told Green to stay on scene, telling him he was being detained…
