NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Charleston man was arrested Wednesday night after North Charleston police located a stolen vehicle and found fentanyl and cocaine base in his possession, authorities said.
Officers received a be-on-the-lookout alert around 8:30 p.m. after city cameras detected the stolen vehicle near Rivers Avenue and Sabal Road, according to police. A responding officer later spotted the vehicle parked at a gas pump in the 5200 block of Rivers Avenue.
Police said Joseph Richard Coreno, 47, ran when officers approached the vehicle. According to investigators, Coreno initially ran toward a nearby building before turning back toward the roadway. Before he could reach the busy six-lane street, an officer used a Taser to stop him…
