The James Beard Foundation on Tuesday announced the finalists for their 2026 awards and Charleston had two of their eight semifinalists make the cut.
Merci (28 Pitt St.) was named a finalist in the “Best New Restaurant” category, while Weltons Tiny Bakeshop (684 King St.) moved forward in the “Outstanding Bakery category.”
