CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A downtown Charleston housing project that promised to replace a 12-unit complex with a new 77-unit development has stalled, leaving relocated families uncertain about if or when they can return.
Once an essential multi-family home, the property now sits boarded up, with barricades blocking the entrance. Belongings left behind—shirts, bikes and even mail—signal the abandonment of the project after families were moved out.
