Lowcountry Walmarts donates over 300 Easter baskets to students in need

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Lowcountry Walmart stores donated more than 300 Easter baskets to students experiencing homelessness across Charleston County.

Walmart identified students in need through The Palmetto Project’s Families Helping Families program, which works closely with the Charleston County School District.

Students experiencing homelessness receive aid from the federal government through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which safeguards access to public education and other resources, including free meals, clothing, and school supplies…
