MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) — The Mount Pleasant Town Council is considering adding a third day to its free beach shuttle service to Isle of Palms, but the proposal would more than double the town’s cost.
CARTA is partnering with Isle of Palms and Mount Pleasant to expand the Beach Reach shuttle from two days to three, adding Fridays to the schedule starting Memorial Day. The shuttle currently runs Saturdays and Sundays and is free for riders.
The town currently pays about $8,000 for those two days. Adding Friday would push that total to $18,000 for the town…
