North Charleston man arrested for reported shooting, multiple drug charges

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department has arrested a man for multiple charges and a reported shooting.

Deangelo Rashaad Vandross, 37, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and battery, cocaine trafficking, trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine base, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a weapon during a violent crime (x6).

Police responded to a reported shooting on Orvid Street around 10 a.m., where a victim said he was barbecuing outside when a vehicle arrived. The victim recognized the passenger, who had previously threatened him with a gun.

When the victim turned away, he heard a single gunshot. The victim was not injured, and the suspect’s vehicle drove off…
