Folly Beach volunteers collect litter, help rescue endangered sea turtle

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCSC) — The Lowcountry community joined together for the annual Toby’s Earth Month Island-Wide Spring Litter Sweep on Sunday on Folly Beach, helping keep the beaches, marshes and streets clean, on a mission to protect the environment and marine life.

In just two hours, over 10,000 pieces of litter were collected.

“What we do is born of our love for the ocean and our love for the environment. And so, if we’re not good stewards of it, then it’s not going to be here for us to be part of. So, this impacts everybody,” Sarah Butler, volunteer and executive director for Waves for Women, said…
