Blue Angels practice for Charleston Airshow, organizers release latest details

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The U.S. Navy Blue Angels began practice Thursday afternoon, in preparation for the Charleston Airshow.

The Citadel saw a special flyover before practice in the Charleston Harbor started up, where students and staff observed the planes in the skies on campus. Two people aboard have a special tie to the military college.

“It’s always really great to have one of the demonstration teams here. I’m a retired Navy guy, so I’m biased towards the Blue Angels, and it’s particularly significant as we have two Citadel graduates on the team,” Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Bill Lind, chief of staff at The Citadel, said. “So, that makes this weekend extra special.”…
