Loaded handgun, suspected cocaine and needles found in vehicle; felon faces charges

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Mount Pleasant man and woman were arrested Tuesday afternoon in North Charleston on drug and firearm charges after officers spotted a suspicious vehicle near an abandoned building, police said.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department’s South Evening Team 1 were patrolling the Delaware Avenue area in the Union Heights community around 4:30 p.m. when they noticed a vehicle parked in an open lot beside a building that has generated multiple complaints of criminal activity.

Police said a woman was seen outside the vehicle picking items up from the ground. As officers approached on foot, they made contact with the driver, identified as Joseph Collin Argenio. Argenio exited the vehicle and attempted to distance himself, according to a police report…
