SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – A cold front will move through the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry Thursday afternoon, and ahead of it a broken line of storms may develop with some possibly becoming severe. The main threat of any storm that develops is damaging wind gusts. Unsettle weather conditions will persist this weekend as the aforementioned front will return and stall near us.

Thursday: The Storm Prediction Center continues to put us in a marginal risk level for severe weather which is a 1/5. This will not be a widespread rain event, as the line will be somewhat broken moving through. Most of us will pick up no more than .10″ of rain, while some that could get a storm, may see .5″ of rain. The timing looks to be west to east 10am-4pm. There is a possibility some of our northern counties to include Screven, Hampton, northern Jasper, and Beaufort could get storm even earlier around Daybreak before the main line pushes in.

Friday: 60/78 mix of sun and clouds…
