Suspect arrested in 18-year-old ‘Sun Drop Murders’ cold case in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A suspect has been arrested in a nearly 18-year-old homicide case in Concord known as the “Sun Drop Murders”.

Around 10 a.m. on June 13, 2008, Concord police were called to a reported shooting inside the Sun Drop Bottling Company on Old-Salisbury Concord Road near the intersection of Branchview Drive and Cabarrus Avenue.

Responding officers found two victims, 59-year-old Donna Barnhardt and 44-year-old Darrell Noles, with apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims died at the scene…
