Man charged with attempted murder after alleged attack with garden tool

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge after allegedly attacking another man on Monday morning in a convenience store parking lot, according to arrest documents.

According to the documents, the suspect allegedly struck and poked the victim with a wooden garden tool handle in the 2400 block of North Tryon Street. He also allegedly fired a single round into the air to incite fear.

Robert Lewis Sturdivant, 66, is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm within city limits…
