HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Diocese of Charlotte ordained 10 men into the priesthood Saturday morning, the highest number in its 54-year history and among the highest numbers of any diocese nationally this year.
The historic event was held at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville.
Bishop Michael Martin led the homily and spoke of his joy at ordaining priests.
The group included men from Colombia, Mexico, and Germany. Each new priest was assigned to serve a church or campus across the diocese, which encompasses 575,000 Catholics, 93 churches, and nearly 150 priests in the western half of North Carolina…
