Ezell Park opened this week in Mint Hill. It brings 91 acres of recreation space to Mecklenburg County residents. The $8.5 million project transformed a former farm site into a facility with a sprayground, pickleball courts, and trails.
The county bought the land in 2001. The sale required the property be used for either a park or a school. A community garden has operated on the site for years, but other amenities were absent until now.
