CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The recent rain across parts of North Carolina brought some relief, but it wasn’t enough to significantly improve the state’s ongoing drought.
According to the North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council, nine counties around the Triangle and eastern Triad, along with Brunswick County, remain in exceptional drought, the state’s most severe classification. Another 46 counties are in extreme drought.
