State and local police to target reckless driving, behavior on Charlotte interstates

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Charlotte drivers on the area’s busiest interstates will see an increased law enforcement presence beginning Friday, kicking off a new law enforcement operation aimed at curbing reckless driving.

It’s called Operation Queen City Overwatch, and includes local and state law enforcement including the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, and district attorney’s office.
