Man accused of going 90 mph ahead of crash that killed a 17-year-old Manolo’s Bakery employee in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man accused of speeding more than 40 mph over the posted speed limit and causing a crash that killed a Manolo’s Bakery employee has turned himself in, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Thursday, July 9, officers obtained warrants for 66-year-Roderick Gresham in connection with a fatal crash on June 6. Two days later, on July 11, he turned himself in and was charged with involuntary manslaughter, speeding, and reckless driving.

The victim in the crash was 17-year-old Angelina Naomi Chicas, an employee at Manolo’s Bakery.
