Waymo Replaces Charlotte Fleet With Sixth-Generation Ojai Robotaxis

Waymo swapped out its Charlotte fleet. Around a dozen Ojai vehicles arrived, equipped with the company’s sixth-generation autonomous driving system. A spokesperson confirmed the new robotaxis now operate with trained specialists seated behind the wheel.

The Ojai models mark a shift from the Jaguar SUVs that arrived in Charlotte back in February. These vehicles drive themselves, but human operators must stay inside during this testing phase.
