(PINPOINT WEATHER) — A slow-moving front brought waves of heavy rain and storms to the region on Thursday. Some needed rain, but in some cases it was a little too much of a good thing and led to some minor flooding. As the front slowly drops south tonight, the rain will continue to diminish or lighten up, but may not go away completely. Along with some patchy fog, some spotty light rain is possible for the morning drive Friday.
The cooler-than-normal temperatures we felt on Thursday will stick around for another day Friday! Highs will only end up near 80 degrees with a cooler northeast flow. Lots of clouds will linger, and more heavy showers and storms could develop in the afternoon and evening, mainly near Charlotte and into South Carolina.
Unsettled weather will stretch into Saturday as well, with more showers and storms possible throughout the day. Sunday is when we start to get back into a typical summertime pattern again, with hotter temps returning along with almost daily PM storm chances.
