Tornado touched down in North Carolina this week: Here’s the details

ALLEGHENY, N.C. (WBTV) – A tornado was confirmed to have touched down in North Carolina during storms earlier this week, the National Weather Service said.

The twister touched down near the Allegheny community in Madison County shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28.

A National Weather Service storm report said tornado damage was first spotted along Rock Branch Road. The path then moved southeast across Highway 212, then caused the “most concentrated area of damage” near Shelton Laurel Creek…
