CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — East Charlotte residents have a new way to get around.
City leaders celebrated the opening of a new sidewalk and traffic signal. Crews also made improvements to the bus stop at the intersection of Harrisburg Road and Timbertop Lane.
Officials tell us neighbors are already using the finished project.
“Already, since the sidewalk has been built, I have seen people walking. We have a lot of people who walk between this neighborhood or the neighborhood across the street to the Food Lion down the street,” said Vernetta Mitchell, Turtle Rock Neighborhood HOA President. “Bicyclists who are actually cycling for exercise or getting to where they need to be. This is extremely important to the mobility and safety of our residents.”
