Some Silfab Solar workers in Fort Mill have been furloughed due to the availability of production materials.
The furloughs began Monday. The solar panel manufacturing company confirmed to The Herald on Wednesday that temporary issues getting production materials will result in reduced shifts. Core operations at the site will continue. The furloughs were reported Wednesday morning by WCNC Charlotte.
A company spokesperson declined to give the number of employees furloughed when asked by The Herald. Silfab is working with impacted employees to provide resources during what it calls a temporary period that should be resolved in three or four weeks…
