CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Severe afternoon storms wreaked havoc across the Charlotte area, leaving thousands without power and some residents counting their blessings after a close call with a falling tree.
In one South Charlotte neighborhood, the scent of burnt wood still hung in the air hours after a massive tree was struck by lightning, eventually snapping and blocking the street.
Despite the chaos, neighbors say they are incredibly lucky to be alive and grateful to have escaped any serious property damage…
