CARROL COUNTY, V.A. (WBTV) – A Charlotte doctor faces felony charges after he allegedly shot into another car on Interstate 77 in Virginia during a road rage incident, police said.
Richard T. Ariviello, 61, of Charlotte was arrested Saturday, Aug. 22, after police said he fired shots into a Jeep carrying two sisters. Ariviello faces several felonies, including:
- Malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle
- Shooting from a vehicle
- Maliciously causing bodily harm to another with intent to maim
- Use of a firearm while committing a felony
WBTV confirmed through the North Carolina Medical Board that Ariviello is a licensed physician and the owner of Family Urgent Care in Monroe, North Carolina.
The facility is located on Wesley Chapel Stouts Road and serves the Monroe, Indian Trail, Ballantyne areas and more. Family Urgent Care staff also confirmed to WBTV that Ariviello owns the practice.
